Not released yet. MiniPrompter is finished and in testing; the signed, notarized disk image is not up here yet. There is nothing to sign up for and no email list — check back, or say hello over a coffee.

Installing it

  1. Open the disk image and drag MiniPrompter into your Applications folder.
  2. Open it. macOS checks the signature with Apple the first time and then gets out of the way.
  3. A short walkthrough runs on the first launch, with a sample script already loaded. You can skip it, and skipping it means it never comes back.

MiniPrompter is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so there is no right-click-to-open dance and no security warning to talk your way past.

Keeping it up to date

MiniPrompter checks this site once a day for a newer version and offers to install it. The check sends nothing about you, your Mac or your scripts, it is the only connection the app ever makes, and you can switch it off in Settings › General. See Privacy for exactly what that means.

Removing it

Drag it to the Trash. If you want the last of it gone, MiniPrompter keeps two small things on your Mac and nothing anywhere else:

  • ~/Library/Application Support/MiniPrompter/ — the script currently open and where you were in it.
  • Its settings, under the name com.bradmacdonald.MiniPrompter.

What you need

  • macOS 13 Ventura or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
  • Nothing else. It never touches your camera or microphone, and there is no permission to approve.
